Would anyone who was also a White Chalk Criminal really go after another White Chalk Criminal when the latter might turn state witness? Of course not! Besides, we don't have a state or a country that wants to know. But once parents find out, we should have a large group of them who want to know since the last time I checked, parents want to protect their children and I don't think that will ever change. CHildren left in the midst of White Chalk Crime means disaster, from drop outs to Columbine. You name it. Just keep adding the proof until we wake up the sleeping giant!
The book is in its final stages and soon we will be offering it at a pre order price to be determined. Stay tuned. It is going to make the truth about education reverberate all over this country.
"White Chalk Crime" will be a website that extends Karen Horwitz' book by the same title. This blog will eventually become a dialog between the author and readers of the book and website visitors who will be directed here. That is the immediate plan. The ultimate goal is to influence change in America's public schools.
When I built NAPTA (a website on teacher abuse) with Karen, I had no idea it would become so huge. And perhaps that website suffers from this lack of foresight and planning. So when presented with the task of building a website for her book, I decided to do it right and use correct devopment principals and technology. I addition, this website would be small and therefore easier.
Coming from academia, my strengths tend to the technical aspects of web work with a weakness in artistic design. So my first step was to enroll in a web design class. I am currently on Lesson 4 in the Designing Effective Websites class offered on-line by EducationTo Go.
I have progressed through the planning process, interface design, and site structure. So far so good
